Riah: Art Inspired by Nature

Based in Detroit, Riah is a talented Black female artist creating one-of-a-kind ceramic masterpieces. Her artwork explores the connection between the female body and nature, sparking meaningful conversations.

Art, Nature, and Femininity

Riah’s creative path began at a young age, nurtured through school art classes and summers spent at art camps. Her early passion for making led her to the University of Michigan, where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sculpture and a second degree in Art History with a concentration in Anthropology.

After college, she began showcasing her ceramic work at art fairs, building a connection with her audience through one-of-a-kind pieces that explore the relationship between the body and nature. Now, Riah is expanding her practice online, offering her art to a broader community while staying rooted in the same intention and care that shaped her journey from the start.

Riah’s goal as an artist is to bring positive attention to the female body—not as an object, but as a powerful vessel of life, strength, and beauty. Through her work, she aims to spark conversations about the value of women beyond physical appearances, highlighting their roles as nurturers, leaders, and creators. Each piece invites viewers to reflect on the deep connections between femininity and nature, challenging societal norms and encouraging a more compassionate, inclusive perspective on womanhood.
